Experienced B2B Business Development Representative — Part-Time Remote
15–25 Hours Per Week | 100% Remote | $22–$24+/Hour + Appointment Bonuses 25.00+**
Still Enjoy Business — But Not the Corporate Grind?
LK Marketing is a 26-year-old B2B sales and marketing company looking for an experienced professional who still enjoys talking with businesspeople, solving problems and creating opportunities, but no longer wants the rigid schedule, commute or bureaucracy of a traditional full-time job.
This is a **100% remote, part-time position requiring a minimum of approximately 15 hours per week**, with flexibility during normal weekday business hours.
Experienced professionals, including retired and semi-retired professionals, are welcome.
## What Makes This Job Different
We are not a call center, and this is not traditional telemarketing.
LK Marketing works as an extension of our clients' sales teams. Our callers represent established B2B companies and have real conversations with receptionists, managers, executives, owners and other decision-makers.
You will not simply read a script, hear "not interested" and move to the next number.
You will be expected to listen, think, ask intelligent follow-up questions, identify the correct decision-makers, gather useful business information, maintain detailed CRM records and create qualified sales opportunities.
## What You'll Do
You will:
* Make outbound B2B calls on behalf of our clients.
* Identify and verify the people who actually influence or make purchasing decisions.
* Gather names, exact titles, reporting relationships, direct phone numbers, email addresses, best callback times and other useful information.
* Develop professional rapport with gatekeepers and find appropriate ways to reach decision-makers.
* Have substantive conversations with decision-makers instead of immediately accepting the first objection.
* Position our client's outside sales representative as the expert and create interest in a short meeting.
* Schedule qualified appointments and meaningful callbacks.
* Maintain detailed, accurate call notes, statuses and follow-up information.
* Manage your assigned prospect pipeline so opportunities do not fall through the cracks.
## CRM Experience Is Required
Please read this section carefully.
When we say **CRM experience**, we mean considerably more than opening a record, typing a note and changing a status.
You should be comfortable:
* Performing multi-field or Advanced Searches.
* Filtering and narrowing groups of records.
* Working within assigned datasets.
* Reviewing prior account and contact history.
* Maintaining detailed chronological call documentation.
* Updating contacts, titles, phone numbers and email information.
* Managing follow-up dates, statuses and prospect pipelines.
* Returning to specific groups of records using search criteria.
We use **QuickBase** extensively. QuickBase experience itself is not required, but genuine CRM competence is.
If your CRM experience has primarily involved basic data entry into Salesforce, HubSpot or another system, please do not describe that as advanced CRM experience.
## You May Be an Excellent Fit If You
* Have meaningful experience in B2B sales, business development, account management, inside or outside sales, recruiting, professional services or another business environment involving decision-makers.
* Genuinely enjoy speaking with people by telephone.
* Sound professional, articulate and natural rather than scripted.
* Listen closely and know how to ask the next intelligent question.
* Are comfortable speaking with executives, owners and senior managers.
* Can be persistent without becoming aggressive.
* Don't become discouraged by gatekeepers, voicemail or rejection.
* Enjoy figuring out who actually makes decisions inside an organization.
* Write clear, detailed notes.
* Are comfortable learning and following an established process.
* Work independently and reliably without constant supervision.
* Value flexibility while understanding that flexibility still requires accountability.
## This Probably Isn't the Right Job for You If
* You prefer high-volume, script-driven call-center work.
* You automatically end a conversation at the first "not interested."
* You dislike asking follow-up questions or gathering detailed information.
* You don't enjoy telephone-based business development.
* Detailed CRM documentation feels burdensome to you.
* You need frequent supervision to remain productive while working remotely.
* Your definition of CRM expertise is primarily entering contacts and notes.
## Schedule
Most callers work approximately **15–25 hours per week**, with a minimum commitment of approximately **15 hours per week**.
Hours are flexible within normal weekday business calling times.
Successful callers generally work in **focused blocks of approximately 1½ to 3 hours** rather than scattering a few calls throughout the day.
Flexibility is one of the benefits of this position. Reliability is still essential.
## Home Office Requirements
You must have:
* A reliable computer.
* Reliable high-speed internet.
* A quiet professional workspace.
* A printer with ink.
* Reliable telephone capability suitable for business calling.
* A professional email address.
* The ability to work without household or personal interruptions during your scheduled calling time.
## Training
We provide detailed training in our processes, client projects, QuickBase procedures, data mining, gatekeeper strategy, decision-maker conversations, follow-up procedures and appointment scheduling.
We do not expect you to know our system before you begin.
We **do** expect you to bring the fundamentals: professionalism, business judgment, telephone confidence, listening skills, persistence, CRM competence and a willingness to learn.
## Compensation
Compensation increases as you demonstrate competence and productivity:
* **$22/hour** during initial training and calling through your first qualified appointment.
* **$23/hour** beginning with your first qualified appointment.
* **$24/hour** for callers who demonstrate consistent productivity and follow the process.
* **$24+/hour** for certain lead-level responsibilities.
* **Additional bonuses** are paid for qualified appointments and vary by client project.
## Why This Role Appeals to Experienced Professionals
There are jobs that advertise higher hourly rates. What we offer is different.
You can continue using the business judgment, communication skills and professional experience you've spent years developing while maintaining considerably more control over your schedule and your life.
You can do meaningful work, talk with businesspeople, create measurable results and be part of a small experienced team without returning to a traditional full-time corporate schedule.
If you still enjoy the best parts of business development but want more freedom for the rest of your life, we'd like to hear from you.
## How to Apply
Please submit your resume along with a brief response to these four questions:
1. What B2B sales, business development or other professional business experience do you have?
2. Describe specifically how you have used a CRM beyond basic contact entry and note-taking. Please include an example involving searches, filters, pipelines or follow-up management.
3. What do you enjoy about speaking with business owners, executives or other decision-makers?
4. Why does a flexible 15–25 hour-per-week remote position appeal to you at this point in your career?
Please also include your general weekday availability.
